Don't Drink the Water at Sanders!

Commemorating still being able to see my feet :) Look at that big round belly!

15 Weeks

(since this pic was taken, 2 more babies have been born and 2 more girls have become pregnant)

So, the school that I work at is a baby making factory! So far this year, there has been 6 babies born (2 girls and 4 boys) and there are 7 more girls expecting right now. Just to keep track of everyones pregnancies and births, our awesome secretary created this baseball field with everyones names and due dates listed. As we move through the trimesters, we move around the baseball diamond. We are surely keeping supply teachers in demand this school year and next.

For the last couple of weeks, I was planning out the possibly of job sharing a kindergarten position next year and only working 2 or 3 days a week. I had already seached out part-time daycares, worked out a budget, and had a basic plan with the other teacher. But, because of the ecomony, the county doesn't even know if they are going to renew any part-time positions for next year. Also, if I did go part-time, I wouldn't be guaranteed a contract each following year. Unfortunetly, there is just no way I can risk my job, considering the amount of counties actually having to lay teachers off. I'm very sad about it :( It breaks my heart when I think about dropping off a baby at a daycare center 5 days a week. But, I have to keep reminding myself that tons of families do it everyday, and that it will all be okay. Plus, I am lucky to have my schedule and will get to have all holidays and summers off with my little one.

Happy 28th Birthday to my handsome husband this weekend! Love you!

Love,
Erin

Spring Break & Easter Weekend

Me, Dustin, and baby bump in Helen, GA.

Celebrating Dustin becoming a father with cigars.

Candi, me, and Tessa in Helen, GA.

Hey family & friends,
Not any major baby updates this week. Dustin and I were both on spring break, so we worked the entire time in the yard and in the house. Luckily, there was a light at the end of the tunnel and we went to Helen for the weekend with friends. Helen was a lot of fun, even though I couldn't get in the hot tub or enjoy a cocktail...bummer! However, everyone was very understanding, and they even all left happy hour to go play mini-golf instead! Our friend Jonathan suprised Dustin by bringing celebratory cigars. In Jonathans family, whenever a man finds out he is expecting a baby, all the guys celebrate with and give well wished with cigars. It was sweet :) Anyway, back to school tomorrow. The baby is the size of a peach now. I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow!
Love,
Erin

We have a heartbeat!

Today we saw one of the doctors at our practice and heard our little one's heart beat! It was such a great sound, I wanted to hear it longer and longer. We asked if it was "slow or fast" and the doctor laughed at us and gave us some babble with numbers. We had no idea what the numbers meant, so we probed a little further and he said it was "on the faster side". If the old wives tale has any truth, that means our little growing miracle is a girl!! We'll have to wait and see :) They are having me come back in 5 weeks. I wonder if they will do the ultrasound then, or make me come back 2 weeks later for it? I forgot to ask. I really liked this doctor. Hopefully I get one of the ones I like for my delivery. Anyway, it was a very exciting day for us!!
Love,
Elated Erin
