First Baby Schularick Purchase

Hey All! I have a few updates since my last post. I am officially 18 weeks pregnant today :) At last weeks doctors appointment, we got to here our little "sweet potatoes" heart beat again. This time it was around the 140's the doctor said. We asked our first embarrasing questions, but I know they will get way worse as the pregnancy goes on. She even laughed when I said it was an embarrasing one, saying "that's nothing". We finally scheduled our first ultrasound...finally! I feel like I've been waiting forever. We will get to see our little one on Tuesday, May 19th (1 week from tomorrow). I've heard all the guesses, but I still stick by it being a girl. Dustin has even gotten on the girl bandwagon, but I know he would be beyond exctatic if it happens to be a boy. We'll be over the moon regardless.

I also went yard saling a couple of weeks ago and got a beautiful bassinet for just $40. It is made by Eddie Bauer. It's a very neutral tan and light wood. It has a rocking and lullibye setting. It sells at Babies R Us for $160. I was very excited about it and making my first baby Schularick purchase!

Lastly, Dustin gave me a very sweet Mothers Day card yesterday, thanking me for giving up my body for our baby. He took me out to lunch (which didn't quite agree with me or the baby apparently, but it was still yummy) and then we went to Babies R Us and Target to start our baby registies. I knew it would be interesting, but boy, I had no idea exactly how clueless I would feel. The part that completely boggled my mind were the bottles, bottle accessories, and breast feeding accessories. There were so many different types and different little parts that I was completely overwhelmed just looking at that section. But, I think I did the best thing and just registered for a couple of each type of bottle. We'll see how it works out. Another great thing about my first "Mother-to-be Day" was that I think I am feeling my little one move. I am surely feeling something, maybe gas bubble, maybe movement? I guess time will tell.

Oh, and the reference to the sweet potato: thebump.com says our baby is about the size of a sweet potato this week, from head to rump.

Happy Mothers Day to all the great moms out there!

Love,
Erin
